Starting from 18 April 2020, Zoom users can customize which data center regions they use for the real-time traffic for meetings and webinars they host. You can opt in or out of each specific data center region. Your default region, that is the United States, is the region where your account was provisioned and is locked from opting.

To customize data center routing, you should:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal https://eduhk.zoom.us.
  2. From the left navigation panel, click Settings.
  3. Under In Meeting (Advanced), look for the option "Select data center regions for meetings/webinars hosted by your account" and verify it is enabled.
  4. Check the regions that you would like your in-meeting and in-webinar data to route through. Then click Save.
