Social Media Content Assessment Platform

In line with the launch of the Social Media Guidelines and associated workflows, effective from 1 Oct 2025, the AI-powered Social Media Content Assessment Platform (https://sclabs.eduhk.hk/ContentAssessment) was developed to assist faculties/departments/centres/units to assess proposed social media content and evaluate the probabilities of relevance to potential risk factors such as pornography, violence, prohibited content, advertising, insults, hate speech and improper behaviour.

Who can access the Platform?

All faculties/departments/centres/units are required to register their social media accounts with the Communications Office (CO) through the Platform. This will help the University gain a comprehensive overview of our social media landscape. Only designated colleagues who have registered their social media accounts as emergency contacts will have access to the Platform to update account details and to use the AI content assessment function.

How can I register and update the contact details of a social media account?

Registration can be made through the Platform with basic information, such as account owner, primary operator and emergency contact. (Those who have registered through the online form before 31 Oct 2025 do not need to register again.)

Please refer to the User Guide available on the Platform for instructions on account management and the AI content assessment function.

Reminder to users

According to the Social Media Guidelines, faculties/departments/offices/units are responsible for their own content, ensuring accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of their posts, and upholding the University’s reputation at all times.

The assessment results provided by the Platform are for reference only. The Head of faculties/departments/offices/units, or delegates, should review and approve the content before posting.

Uploaded content and files will only be accessible for 30 calendar days, while assessment results will remain available on the Platform. Please save copies of your content if needed.
