Using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device as a security token is the most convenient way to complete verification. You can also receive a text message or phone call on your mobile phone to verify your identity. Below are the four verification methods:

  • Click "Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator app" to receive a notification on your registered device.
  • Then, tap on the notification, enter the number displays and tap "Yes" on the app.

Using the Microsoft Authenticator app to retrieve verification code
  • Click "Use a verification code from my mobile app".
  • Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your registered device to retrieve the verification code. Then enter the 6-digit code and click "Verify".

  • Click "Text +XXX XXXX XXXX".
  • You will receive a text message on your phone. Enter the 6-digit code and click "Verify".

  • Choose "Call +XXX XXXX XXXX".
  • You will receive a call on your registered phone number.
  • Pick up the call and press the pound key # to verify.
Note: The language of the verification phone call is set based on your sign-in system (e.g. Browser). If your browser language is Chinese, the phone call will be in Putonghua.
