1. If you use the Oracle system for the first time or the Windows system image of your PC is fresh, please install University Root Certificate & Oracle8i Client in Network Application.
  2. It is quite common the problem is due to that there are software application conflicting with Oracle. Such problematic applications include:
    • Sign-In Assistant from Windows Live Messenger.
    • Oracle JInitiator
    • Browser Pop-up Blocker (e.g. Google bar, Yahoo bar, IE pop-up blocker)
    • etc.
  3. Uninstalling the problematic application, if any
    • Uninstall the problematic application or/and Oracle JInitiator, click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs
    • Highlight the application and click Remove

    • Then try login the Oracle system. If it still does not work, please try the next step.
  4. Reinstall Oracle JInitiator (if you have just uninstalled this application)
    • Restart the Oracle related system
    • Follow the popup message from the system
    • Reinstall Oracle JInitiator.
    • Then try login the Oracle system. If it still does not work, please try the next step.
  5. Using this IE setting for Oracle EBS (Oracle Finance only)
    • Open IE8
    • On menu bar, click Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced
    • Uncheck Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks

    • Click OK button
    • Restart all IE8

Precautions: Please check to see if there are only one JRE (Java 6) in your PC and setup your PC to IE8 + Java 6 (latest 21). In addition, please close all IE before starting Oracle application (Jinitator) or JRE application (e.g. e-banking). Please don't run JInitator/JRE at the same time.
