Spot the Fake, Make No Mistake! Information Security and Personal Data Protection Awareness Week 2026

The Information Security and Personal Data Protection Awareness Week, held from 28 to 30 Apr 2026, brought together participants to deepen their understanding of information security and personal data protection. Under the theme “Spot the Fake, Make No Mistake!”, the event highlighted the importance of identifying fake and misleading information in today’s digital world, particularly as AI-generated content becomes more prevalent. Through a series of interactive, engaging activities, participants had the opportunity to enhance their awareness and learn practical ways to protect themselves and others online.

The workshop on Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong (PCPD) covered the six data protection principles, data security management and data breach handling with real case sharing, while the one on cybersecurity and phishing awareness focused on cybersecurity trends, phishing identification and techniques.
