FAQ: I cannot edit my PDF file after sent the file to OCR server for recognition.

If you got a blue bar saying that You are viewing this document in PDF/A mode. when you open a PDF file, all editing features will be disabled.

PDF/A is an ISO 19005-1 standard for PDFs. Documents you sent to OCR server are PDF/A-compliant. This mode will implement a set of restriction on the file to suite the long term archiving standard. Thus you cannot edit the file.

You can specify when and whether you want to view documents in this viewing mode with the following steps.

Procedures:

  1. Choose Edit -> Preferences (Windows) or Acrobat-> Preferences (Mac OS).
  2. Select Documents under Categories.
  3. Choose the option Never for View Documents In PDF/A.
