If you're creating a PDF file from a document that uses Chinese True Type fonts, you should embed those fonts in the PDF file so that the the document can be showed on computers that do not have the Chinese font installed.

  • Open the Acrobat Distiller. Click Settings > Job Options from the menu bar.

  • In the Job Options windows, switch to the Fonts tab. Then check the option Embed All Fonts and Subset embedded fonts when percent of characters used is less than:. If you need to force the file to embed any font. Then in the Embedding area, add the fonts that you need to embed in you file to the Always Embed: area.

  • After all, save the changes by pressing OK or Save As for the Acrobat to take effect on the next process.

Note:

  • The more fonts you embedded in the file, the larger the file size.
  • Because the ability to embed Asian fonts is an Acrobat 4.0 feature, Distiller's job options must be set to 4.0 compatibility.
