Prior to joining The Education University of Hong Kong, Professor Kerry Lee was at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His most recent appointments there was Head of Research at the Education and Cognitive Development Lab and Associate Dean at the Office of Educational Research. As Associate Dean, he looked after the science of learning initiative and established the new Centre for Research in Child Development. Prior to these appointments, he was also head of the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice. He taught at Bond University in the Gold Coast before joining NIE. Professor Lee earned his Bachelor degree from the University of Sydney and his Doctorate from Macquarie University in Sydney Australia.

 

Professor Lee is trained as a cognitive developmental psychologist. His work has focused on mathematical achievement, working memory, and the development of executive functioning.  He has published extensively in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Educational Psychology and Child Development. He is a member of the Society for Research in Child Development and the European Association for Research in Learning and Instruction. He serves on the editorial or review boards of Learning and Individual Differences, the European Journal of Psychological Assessment, and Frontline Learning Research.
