Welcome to the website of the UNESCO Chair at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK)!
The appointment was first awarded to EdUHK in 2011 as the very first UNESCO Chair in Education in Hong Kong. The third appointment (2019-2023) has been renamed the UNESCO Chair in Regional Education Development and Lifelong Learning.
The newly nominated UNESCO Chair holder is Professor John Lee Chi-kin, who is currently Vice President (Academic), Chair Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of the Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education, and Co-Director of the Centre for Education in Environmental Sustainability at EdUHK.
Professor Lee aspires to strengthen the support for UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals, the development of 21st century skills and positive values, capacity building across education sectors, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET). He is also committed to the development of other UNESCO priorities and strategies, including life and values education, environmental education and intercultural education.
