Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative and Digital Arts (Music) / (Visual Arts)
This programme features an innovative creative digital emphasis for music and the visual arts within subject-focused and major-elective courses. It extends the depth and reach of our existing provision within the new targeted art tech, entertainment and multi-media sectors, while also retaining the Internship as one of the unique and highly popular components. The programme will equip students with the theoretical, practical and contextual knowledge and skills that are applicable within the cultural and creative industries, the cultural and educational sectors, and in the broader commercial sectors of the region. It will also equip students with knowledge in arts administration and management, providing them with opportunities to gain hands-on experience through internships.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Digital Chinese Culture and Communication
The BA(DCCC) programme offers a wide range of courses to emphasise the intersections of Chinese language and culture with media, creative arts and digital literacy, enabling students to develop an integrated knowledge and sophisticated professional profile to contribute to culture and arts and commercial and economic sectors (i.e. creative industries, tourism and retail industry, intellectual property services). Students will gain hands-on experience with digital tools for language applications, which will empower them to develop creative digital contents for language learning and teaching, produce and publish innovative and engaging contents in digital media, and apply digital tools in the field of Chinese communication.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Studies and Digital Communication
This programme aims to cultivate a new generation of English studies students with strong digital literacy skills through a digitally enriched curriculum. The programme provides a wide range of courses to build a solid foundation in English language, linguistics and digital literacy, consolidated by hands-on experience in using digital tools for language applications. Students will be empowered to develop digital contents for the learning and teaching of languages, to publish in digital media and to support and critically evaluate digital communication solutions. A combination of humanities and digital communication technology will allow students to further contribute to the transformation of education, media, and publishing in the digital age.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Heritage Education and Arts Management
The BA(HE&AM) programme furnishes students with the knowledge, mindset and skills required to meet career demands in the fields of arts, cultural, heritage and museum education. It complements global and local trends of enhancing citizens’ all-round development in formal and non-formal arts and cultural education. Building on the strong partnerships between The Education University of Hong Kong and heritage and arts institutes nationally, regionally and internationally, the programme is interdisciplinary, and focuses on enhancing the work-related competencies of practitioners. The programme contributes to the education process and competitiveness of Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and the region by encouraging the development of citizens who are culturally competent and values-inspired.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Personal Finance
The BA(PF) programme is a “discipline-based, practice-oriented” programme that builds on the wider well-established tradition of the finance discipline. It is designed to incorporate the latest developments in the global financial services sector, including fintech, risk management, wealth management, investment analysis, and green and sustainable finance. Meanwhile, the proposed programme covers the fundamental principles of finance and investments, such as taxation, credit management, retirement planning, estate planning, etc.
The programme distinguishes itself from the programmes offered by other local universities by articulating the role of personalised financial advising and wealth management as the pillar for building a more robust financial market. It aims to provide an alternative to the “corporate-centric” conventional finance curriculum and to demonstrate how a more inclusive personal finance curriculum can contribute to a resilient financial system. All of these themes align with the strategic direction of the talent needs in Hong Kong.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Special Education
BA(SE) aims to nurture committed and skilled practitioners for the well-being of individuals with special needs, particularly in areas related to education and community empowerment. Students will learn about the types and characteristics of special needs, assessment and intervention approaches, the broader environmental, language and social contexts, as well as issues related to social inclusion, empowerment, and quality of life of individuals with special needs. The Programme will provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience in real work environments. Graduates will work with families, schools, and communities to effectively facilitate inclusion and enhance the quality of life for individuals with special education needs.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology
The programme is designed to address the challenges of the educational transformation driven by the fourth industrial revolution and to meet the societal needs for qualified professionals in AI and educational technology to support the future development of schools, tertiary education, government and corporate sectors. It aims to:
(a) provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence and educational technology;
(b) develop students’ ability in applying knowledge of artificial intelligence and educational technology appropriate to teaching and learning;
(c) build up students’ skills in using appropriate methods of artificial intelligence and educational technology to approach and solve real-world problems in educational contexts; and
(d) equip students with the capacity to conduct and evaluate educational projects supported by ethical use of artificial intelligence and educational technology.
This programme prepares graduates to pursue technical and support positions across various sectors, such as AI engineers, data scientists, software engineers, e-learning developers, educational technology specialists, and teaching assistants. Graduates can find opportunities in the IT industry, schools, educational technology companies, IT-related positions in various industries, as well as government and non-governmental organisations.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Integrated Environmental Management
Environmental management is of growing importance in the daily operation of private and public sectors. Throughout the past few decades, new environmental tools have emerged to enable policymakers and decision-makers to deal with environmental challenges presented in their planning and operation, including environmental accounting, environmental risk assessment and environmental management system certification. At the same time, the establishment of environmental regulation in different jurisdictions makes it necessary for different sectors to comply with different legal and regulatory requirements. This multidisciplinary programme is catered for students who have a strong interest and dedication in environmental management and sustainability.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Speech Pathology and Rehabilitation (Year-1 Entry Only)
The four-year full-time undergraduate programme in speech pathology offers an innovative interdisciplinary approach to professional training. Going beyond traditional discipline-specific knowledge, the curriculum meets the evolving needs of healthcare professionals by integrating cutting-edge skills and knowledge from various disciplines. Students will benefit from an integrated minor in psychology and well-being, providing a comprehensive understanding of related fields. Practical experience is enhanced through practicum courses and internships in real-world settings. The programme also focuses on interprofessional mentoring, entrepreneurial activities, and global engagement to promote collaborative practices, innovation, and global perspectives.
The programme's curriculum is built upon the achievements of EdUHK's Master of Science Programme in Educational Speech-Language Pathology and Learning Disabilities, one of the first speech pathology programmes accredited under the Accredited Registers Scheme for Healthcare Professions by the Department of Health, HKSAR. Graduates of this programme will be eligible to practice within the AR Scheme upon accreditation of the programme.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching
The programme transforms students into professionals in sports coaching or sports technology through the following iconic features: (1) The internship training opportunities in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and overseas sports organisations will provide an excellent chance for students to have a dialogue with sports leaders, build connections, enrich knowledge and skills, and lay a foundation for their future careers; (2) Integration of the subject knowledge of sports science, coaching, technology, and life education provides comprehensive training, leading to a wide range of career paths; and (3) Teaching cutting-edge knowledge by a professional team with leading roles in sports and life education allows students to keep ahead of peers and seise opportunities, striving for success and excellence in the academic field(s) and workplace.
Students who are admitted to the programme through Year 1 admissions will be eligible to select one of the two strands, namely Sports Coaching, or Digital Technology and Sports, in their Years 3 and 4 studies.
Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Psychology
BSocSc(Psy) aims to provide a curriculum conforming to standards comparable to local and overseas universities, and also includes three interrelated concentrations that develop students’ intellectual capacity and ability to apply psychological knowledge and skills in the workplace— (1) School Psychology, (2) Health Psychology, and (3) Human Relations and Communication.

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Early Childhood and Family Studies
Hong Kong witnesses an increasing need for parent education and related studies. The BA(ECFS) programme addresses this need by training students who are able to empower parents to promote the development of young children using science-informed methods.
Students will learn how to develop and evaluate family-oriented programmes. Students will also learn how to collect data to address research questions about early childhood and family studies. Graduates are expected to be competent practitioners who are able to support families and schools in their efforts to take care of young children, run systematic family-oriented programmes in school and community settings, and deal with a wide range of family-related issues.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language
The BA(TCSL) programme aims to nurture professionals in teaching Chinese as a Second Language. Students enrolled in this programme will be equipped with: (i) interdisciplinary knowledge including Chinese language and pedagogy, as well as educational psychology; and (ii) the ability to analyse issues related to Chinese teaching in the context of multilingualism and globalisation.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Executive Management
The BSc (EM) gives your career in education-focused administration a head-start, equipping students with career opportunities in schools, NGOs, and education-related organizations where care, ethics, and social responsibility are core to their business agenda. Our programme has a strong team of university-wide, inter-faculty, and inter-disciplinary instructors with academic and practitioner experiences in education and executive management. Professional preparation includes a broad and diversified spectrum of essential knowledge (e.g., grant proposal writing, human resource management, leading school entrepreneurship, etc.), and internship opportunities. Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Social Entrepreneurship and Development Studies
In recent years, the ecosystem of social business has speedily evolved, and some social entrepreneurs and successful social innovation projects have emerged. In a rapidly changing world, social entrepreneurs develop strategies by drawing on and merging inventive thought from both non-profit and business sectors, start businesses with the dual purpose of profit and social value, and address social problems, such as poverty and unemployment, unfair trade, etc., with innovation. This Programme with a focus on the developmental needs in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and emerging economies in Asia, provides students with a holistic experience of social entrepreneurship, enhances students with academic and professional foundations, and helps students develop networks through internship and field visits with organisations in Hong Kong and other cities in the GBA, enables students’ understanding of the complex dynamics of social transitions in GBA and Asia, in order to equip students for their future careers.
Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Sociology and Community Studies
The programme aims to provide students with a solid training in social sciences inquiry so that they can understand the nature and complexity of social and cultural challenges faced by individuals in communities of different scales and at different levels. Students will be introduced to issues concerning class, ethnicity, gender, social inequality, and cultural diversities. They will also participate in discussions related to social transformations and the changing social structures and institutions in Hong Kong, Mainland China and the contemporary world. Students will be expected to understand and explain social issues with the use of appropriate quantitative and qualitative data. EdUHK is one of the teacher education providers in Hong Kong. Graduates of the University’s teacher education programmes are eligible to apply to become fully qualified Registered Teachers. For registration as a teacher, graduates should approach the Teacher Registration Team of the Education Bureau (EDB) to submit applications directly. All applications will be independently assessed by the EDB which will consider, among other things, whether an applicant has been convicted of any criminal offence (including sex-related offences) in Hong Kong or elsewhere, or is involved in any ongoing criminal proceedings or investigations. The BA(DCCC) & BEd(CL) is a cross-sectoral co-terminal double degree programme with two majors, namely Discipline Studies Major and Education Major, which aims to equip students with the disciplinary competency, professional competency, digital literacy skills, and the professional conduct and ethics required of teachers. These competencies are essential for teaching Chinese Language in both primary and secondary schools or for engaging in other professions that require in-depth knowledge and skills in Chinese Language Studies with digital communication skills. Graduates of this programme will receive two degrees and are eligible to apply to become fully qualified Registered Teachers in Hong Kong.
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Studies and Digital Communication and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (English Language)
This cross-sectoral co-terminal double degree programme aims to prepare students to become competent teachers of English in primary and secondary schools, or other English language related professionals. Graduates will obtain a high level of English proficiency, strong digital literacy skills, and an ability to help pupils learn English effectively. Students will learn the English language system, the use of digital tools for language applications, and the principles and theories of teaching and learning with special reference to the teaching and learning of English as a second language. Students in the programme will conduct teaching practices in primary and secondary schools, and join an immersion programme in an English-speaking country.

The BA(HE&AM) & BEd(CHI HIST) is a co-terminal double degree programme, aims at cultivating students with professional ethics, creativity, lively teaching abilities, and a global perspective for teaching the subject of Chinese History in secondary schools. This programme will also equip students with the necessary knowledge of cultural heritage and museum education.

The BA(PF) & BEd(BAFS) programme aims to train pre-service teachers to effectively teach Business, Accounting and Financial Studies [BAFS] and Business Fundamentals [BF] in secondary schools. Students are also equipped with academic and professional competencies in personal finance and finance advisory. They will be introduced to the fundamental operations of the banking and financial sector within the global business context, and the contemporary conceptual and practical issues in investment analysis, portfolio management, budgeting and taxation, wealth management, and financial planning and counselling. The disciplinary knowledge in personal finance and finance advisory can enhance prospective teachers’ competence to deliver financial education and organise student activities for promoting financial education in secondary schools. Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Integrated Environmental Management and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Science)
The co-terminal double degree programme - BSc(IEM) & BEd(SCI) encompasses two mutually reinforcing features. First, the Discipline Major in Integrated Environmental Management (IEM) provides interdisciplinary training in science, computing, socioeconomic aspects, and regulations, and includes an internship in the environmental management area, enabling graduates to address environmental issues from multiple perspectives. Second, the Education Major in Science enriches students’ pedagogical content knowledge and teaching skills, includes field experience to understand science curricula in schools, develops teaching skills, nurtures teacher professionalism, and enables graduates with the capability to teach Science from Key Stages 1 to 4, including primary level, junior secondary level, and senior secondary level (Biology/Chemistry which will be offered in alternate years). The two features of the programme widen students’ interdisciplinary horizons, enhance their exposure to STEAM-related subjects, and expand their experiences with environmental science.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Science and Coaching and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Physical Education)
This double degree programme offers a comprehensive and unique educational experience for students interested in physical education and sports science. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in sports, humanities, science, curriculum, and pedagogy, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to teach physical education in both primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong. Graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Education degree which is recognized by the Education Bureau and allows them to register as teachers in Hong Kong schools. They may also pursue further certification or licensure in specific areas like coaching or sports science, depending on their career goals. The programme emphasises the integration of theory and practice, offering rich personal, academic, and professional development opportunities. Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Psychology and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Early Childhood Education)
The Programme offers an integrated educational experience in the disciplines of psychology and early childhood education. Graduates will acquire specialised knowledge and diverse skills, enhancing their career prospects. They will become professional educators equipped with substantial psychological expertise, enabling them to create inclusive and effective learning environments for young children aged zero to eight. The programme also supports further professional development in fields such as clinical, educational, counselling, and child psychology, providing practical learning experiences like internships. 1 Graduates of this programme will be eligible to apply for registration with the Education Bureau and Social Welfare Department as kindergarten teachers, child care workers, and child care supervisors in Hong Kong and meet the academic qualifications required by the Education Bureau for kindergarten principals. They will also be considered as having acquired training on the One-year In-service Course in Special Child Care Work, recognized by the Social Welfare Department, HKSAR. Additionally, they will be eligible to apply for membership in the Hong Kong Psychological Society, further enhancing their professional growth.

Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Sociology and Community Studies and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Geography) (co-terminal double degree) (Five-year Full-time) is a teacher-training programme which aims to equip students with two social science disciplinary perspectives – both geographical and sociological – in analysing the complex relationships between individuals, societies, and the world. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be able to apply both disciplinary knowledge and pedagogical skills in the teaching sector. Graduates of the programme are expected to be eligible to apply to be Registered Teachers (RT) in Hong Kong and could teach Geography and specific modules within Tourism and Hospitality Studies in secondary schools with the subject knowledge and pedagogical experiences provided in the programme. At the same time, students will be equipped with professional and generic skills that would be useful for other professional sectors dedicated to community advancement and sustainable development.

This Programme is the first add-on specialist degree in Hong Kong on special needs and inclusive education. The Programme, in line with the government's policy on integration, aims to provide specialist training for serving teachers or professionals to work effectively with learners with special needs in mainstream schools or special education settings. It also aims to significantly enhance the competencies of teachers so that they are able to collaborate and develop effective teams within the realm of the whole school approach whether they are based in special education settings or resource centres.

Bachelor of Health Education (Hons) Programme [BHE], a unique top-up degree in the market, aims to nurture participants of Higher Diploma / Associate Degree in health-related studies, registered teachers, nurses, and social workers to be effective health educators. The programme prepares participants as train-the-trainer and with knowledge skills to design and conduct health education interventions to clients in various settings and to evaluate contemporary health issues in the community.
 
The programme has the following iconic features:
1. Use of Innovative and creative strategies to promote health education in community;
2. Establishment of excellent network with schools and non-profit organizations to provide authentic practice opportunities; and
3. Implementation of evidence-based health education practice in various real-life settings.
Probity Requirements: Other than the application fee, applicants are not required to pay any additional fees during the application process.
