Dr Maxwell Ho wins the Emerald Young Researcher Award

Dr Maxwell Ho Chun-sing, Lecturer at the Department of Education Policy and Leadership, The Education University of Hong Kong, has been awarded the Emerald Young Research Award 2021 for his contribution to research and practice, as well as the impact on schools in Hong Kong.
Dr Ho has organised various training programmes for middle leaders to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their schools. It has helped them formulate feasible and effective improvement initiatives. Dr Ho and his mentors also ran a leadership learning project for 39 primary and secondary schools during the period from 2020 to 2022. It aimed to train and nurture school leaders with entrepreneurial and service mindset.
“I would like to express my gratitude to my mentors and project members, Dr Darren Bryant, Dr Lu Jiafang, and Professor Allan Walker, for the continuous support as well as their generosity, motivation, and immense knowledge. Their guidance has helped me stay focused on bringing the research into practice. Their humble manner has inspired and made this educational journey towards scholarship an exciting and meaningful experience for me,” Dr Ho said.
Organised by Emerald in East Asia and New Asian Tigers region, the Emerald Young Researcher Award honoured six young researchers from 15 Asian countries and regions who demonstrated originality and contribution in research and practice, and made impact on society.
