EdUHK Signs MOU with Quanzhou Normal University to Promote Academic Collaboration

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and Quanzhou Normal University (QNU) signed a partnership agreement in May 2023 to further a variety of their academic collaborations. 

 

Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-Leung, President of EdUHK, led a group of EdUHK representatives to visit Quanzhou and join the signing ceremony hosted by QNU. 

Under the new partnership, EdUHK and QNU will undertake scholarly exchange, research collaborations, and jointly develop teacher professional development resources. Exchange opportunities will also be explored to broaden students' horizons from the two universities.

 

"I am excited about the cooperation with Quanzhou Normal University,” said Professor Cheung. “QNU has educated countless teachers and education leaders that have greatly contributed to education in China and Chinese language and culture education in overseas countries. Also, EdUHK and QNU have a similar development process for teacher education. The new partnership can foster teacher education and research advancement in Quanzhou and Hong Kong."

 

Prof Qu welcomed and thanked the support from EdUHK. He said, "EdUHK is a leading university in Education in Asia. We look forward to future collaborations so that the teachers' teaching, learning and research capacity in the QNU can be enhanced.

 

Professor Cheung and Professor Qu Guangqing, the President of QNU, signed the partnership agreement. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr Li Chaohui, the Vice Director of Taiwan, Macao and Hongkong Work Office of the Quanzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, and the representatives from QNU and EdUHK.
