EdUHK Receives Donation from Mr Li Ka-shing to Promote AI Literacy

You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover a press conference on the third phase of the ‘Artificial Intelligence Literacy Programme’ at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). The programme aims to enable the general public to better understand artificial intelligence (AI) and apply it in their workplace.

Thanks to the generous and continuous support from Mr Li Ka-shing, the University has expanded the scope of the programme to cover primary and secondary teachers, parents, and administrative staff in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The 10-week programme, comprising 60 hours of training, covers the basic concepts of machine and deep learning, and provides tips to generate effective questions for inquiry and prompts. Since 2020, Mr Li has donated over HK$10 million to EdUHK to promote AI literacy. To date, over 700 university and senior secondary students have benefitted from the initiative.

Professor Kong Siu-cheung, Director of the ‘Artificial Intelligence and Digital Competency Education Centre’ will explain at the press conference the importance of promoting AI literacy in this era, while introducing the characteristics of the programme.
