2026-2027 Academic Year: 14 Professors Join EdUHK to Advance Global Academic Reach
At the outset of the 2026/27 academic year, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) welcomes a distinguished cohort of international scholars, including 14 professors with teaching and research experience at leading universities in Europe and Asia.
The new appointments span a wide range of disciplines, including language and education, social sciences and policy, health and sport sciences, technology and engineering, special and inclusive education, psychology and interdisciplinary studies. Each has achieved distinction in their field, and their arrival is expected to inject fresh energy into the campus while strengthening EdUHK’s global academic profile.
The scholars’ research directions align closely with EdUHK’s Strategic Plan 2025–2031, which emphasises interdisciplinary integration and international collaboration. Their expertise will advance the University’s work in education, research and public service, consolidating its standing in the global academic community.

EdUHK’s academic reputation has risen steadily in recent years. In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, the University was ranked 7th worldwide and 2nd in Asia in Education. Linguistics, Psychology, and Sociology remained within the global top 300, while EdUHK entered the rankings for the first time in Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences & Management, underscoring its interdisciplinary growth.
In the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2026, EdUHK secured an impressive 37th position among leading universities in the region. The University also ranked 2nd globally in SDG 4 (Quality Education) in the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026. In addition, EdUHK was placed 3rd worldwide in Education in the latest ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2026, and 3rd globally in Education and Educational Research in the 2026-2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings.
In the future, EdUHK says it will continue to pursue its global recruitment strategy under the motto “Education Futures, Diverse Talents.” The University aims to attract leading scholars from around the world to nurture students with international vision, innovative thinking and a strong sense of social responsibility, while reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as an international education hub.
