本研究计画由一群在职业健康、公共卫生、社会不平等和组织心理学等领域具有专业知识的学者领导,旨在了解劳工阶层的现状和需求。本研究期望找出帮助这一弱势工人群体提升包容性、可持续和生产性就业的策略。

从事初级职业、非技术行业和体力劳动的工人是经济增长的基础支柱。然而,他们往往是被忽视的社会成员,领取微薄的薪水、资源和支持,职涯发展和晋升的机会也有限。本计画旨在识别和研究影响职业发展和满意度的决定因素。具体来说,本项目涉及一项多阶段、多样本、混合方法进行的研究,透过提出一个综合模型来实证检验职业发展的预测因素、检查职业发展的轨迹并评估就业培训课程的效用。目标参与者包括失业或失学并正在接受与就业相关的课程的人士,以及从事初级职业、非技术行业和体力劳动的在职人士。透过了解他们的处境和需求,本计画将为劳工阶级以员工导向的政策提供实际意义,制定可行的解决方案,使工人技能与就业需求相一致,并制定有效的培训计划,以提高这一群弱势劳动力的竞争力和就业能力。
