學生完成本課程後能夠:

  • 具備高水平的英文能力,達到大學相關的語文政策要求;
  • 對英文擁有深厚認識;
  • 協助香港小學生有效地學習英文作為其第二語言;
  • 終身學習及理解不同的道德、社會及文化價值;
  • 與學生、家長、同工、學校行政人員及其他專業人士通力合作;及
  • 瞭解香港教育議題及積極回應各項教育改革。

The BEd(EL) programme has enabled me to realise my dream, which is to become a teacher, and built my confidence to work in the education field. Through the courses I took over the years, I gained exposure to the fields of linguistics and literature, as well as education and pedagogy. Moreover, I was given opportunities to put what I had learnt into practice and participate in a variety of field experience-related activities as I progressed through the programme — for example, sharing sessions given by our alumni and retired principals, attachment programmes hosted by local schools, and most importantly, teaching practicums for us to gain hands-on teaching experience in authentic school settings. The rich experiences offered by the BEd(EL) programme have indeed prepared me well for meeting the future challenges of being a local English teacher.

隨著社會結構轉型,「漂」已經成為現代人常見的一種生活狀態。有「港漂」選擇在香港落地生根;亦有「港漂」無法融入本地的生活,在適應上遇到不少挑戰。王鵬錦作為資深「港漂」,他不僅適應了香港的生活,更獲獎學金遠赴英國牛津大學繼續升學。
