人工智能與語言學習科技文學碩士
Master of Arts in Artificial Intelligence and Technology in Language Learning (MAATLL) examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital technologies on language learning, teaching, assessment, curriculum, learner development, and professional practices across English, Chinese, multilingual, and broader language education contexts. The programme prepares educators, language professionals, learning designers, assessment specialists, and related practitioners to use AI and digital technologies critically, creatively, and responsibly. By emphasising both theoretical understanding and practical application, the programme provides students with the knowledge and competencies needed to design technology-enhanced learning experiences, evaluate emerging educational technologies, and lead innovation in diverse language learning contexts. The programme aims to develop advanced research-informed understanding, independent professional judgment, and the ability to address complex language education problems responsibly.
Programme Objectives
The programme responds to the growing need for professionals who can integrate AI and other digital technologies into language education in pedagogically sound and socially responsible ways. It supports the transformation of pedagogies, curriculum, assessment, and student development by helping students design innovative learning activities and evaluate technology-enhanced practices. It also advances digital competencies for all by equipping graduates to use and critique emerging tools. The programme promotes technological social responsibility and academic integrity, while fostering academia–industry collaboration and real-world learning through practice-oriented projects and engagement with educational and professional contexts.
Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be able to:
- Critically evaluate and synthesise advanced theories, research, and practices related to AI, digital technologies, and language learning
- Design and implement technology-enhanced pedagogies, curricula, learning tasks, and assessment practices for diverse language learners in multilingual and varied educational or professional contexts, and critically evaluate their effectiveness using appropriate methodologies and qualitative, numerical and graphical evidence
- Critically evaluate digital works (texts, visuality, virtual practices, etc.) as cultural artefacts and discourses
- Assess and formulate ethical, socially responsible, and academically sound approaches to the use of AI and digital technologies in language education, exercising independent judgment and accountability when addressing complex issues and incomplete evidence
- Design, justify and evaluate evidence-informed responses to real-world challenges in AI- and technology-enhanced language learning, taking account of educational and professional stakeholders’ needs across diverse linguistic and institutional contexts, and communicate recommendations to relevant audiences.
