EdUHK now embeds mandatory social sustainability training into its new‑staff induction through LinkedIn Learning, strengthening colleagues’ understanding of well‑being, inclusion, mental health awareness, and community responsibility to support a caring and socially sustainable campus culture.

The Employee's Guide to Sustainability
Learn about how personal and collective sustainability actions can help solve the challenges of climate change, land and ocean degradation, and overconsumption.

Sustainable Development and Well-Being
Explore the three basic objectives of sustainable development—economic prosperity, social fairness, and environmental sustainability—and why sustainable development matters to our happiness and well-being.
Equity First: The Path to Inclusion and Belonging
Equity is a very important concept in today's workplace. This course helps you gain a better understanding of what it is, shows you some of its benefits, and offers some practical advice on fostering equity in hiring, promotions, and development.
How to Be More Inclusive
This course explores common biases in the workplace and tangible ways to shut them down. It explores privilege and equity, illustrates the key differences between equality and equity and the importance of doing so. Key topics like identity, microaggressions, hiring practices, allyship, and inclusion best-practices are discussed.

In addition, EdUHK offers training and activities focused on social aspects of sustainability regularly, which staff (faculty and professional staff) and students will be required to attend to enrich their profiles. These programmes aim to enhance social responsibility, problem-solving abilities, and community engagement, contributing to sustainable development.

Service-Learning

Service-learning programmes provide opportunities for participants to apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges, such as supporting underprivileged groups, assisting non-profit organisations, and engaging in rural development projects. These initiatives foster social responsibility and a commitment to community improvement.

A variety of services are organised to groom students to be “Community Carers” for service recipients. In addition to nurturing students to develop an open mind and a caring heart to understand and contribute to the community, we help them develop the character traits of caring and citizenship for whole-person development while meeting societal needs. Through resource sharing, community groups in Tai Po and Northern District gain shared benefits from civic engagement to social inclusion to build a better community.
