Teaching and Learning
EdUHK aims to comprehensively evaluate and enhance the alignment of University courses with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This initiative is targeted at elevating the University’s impact on both its students and the broader community, thereby solidifying its role as a leader in sustainability education and research.
The objectives of this initiative are as follows:
- To benchmark curriculum frameworks related to across both local and international universities, identifying best practices and gaps in current academic offerings;
- To conduct comprehensive mapping of existing Undergraduate programmes and courses to the SDGs, ensuring a clear understanding of their current alignment;
- To enhance current SDG curriculum mapping practices to facilitate a closer alignment of the University’s curriculum with SDGs, enabling a more intentional and impactful integration of sustainability goals into academic programmes; and
- To research SDG keyword mapping methodologies in greater depth to optimise SDG course alignment, providing academics with efficient tools for sustainability-focused curriculum development.
We aspire to deliver transformative insights through the SDG curriculum mapping, which will empower academics and University leaders to better align their curriculum with global sustainability objectives.
