EdUHK I-WELL First Anniversary Conference

In celebration of the first anniversary of the Integrated Centre for Wellbeing (I-WELL) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), a conference entitled “Community Education and Rehabilitation in Supporting Preschool Children with Special Education Needs” will be held this Saturday (17 June) at its Tai Po Campus. You or your representative are cordially invited to cover the event.

Established by the Faculty of Education and Human Development at EdUHK in 2016, the Integrated Centre for Wellbeing provides comprehensive services to students with special educational needs (SEN) by utilising advanced equipment and integrating research results into clinical services.

During the conference, 14 social welfare organisations participating in the “On-site Pre-School Rehabilitation Services” Pilot Scheme, launched by the government, will discuss their invaluable experiences of implementing the services, which they describe as a new page in pre-school special education in Hong Kong.

Representatives from social welfare organisations will also discuss their case experiences at the ceremony, covering areas such as the relationship between Hong Kong parents’ over-protection and developmental delay in children, how SEN children and their parents have benefited from the Pilot Scheme and the skills acquired by parents to train their children suffering from developmental delay. It is hoped that the conference will serve as a platform for peer exchanges.

During the event, the new portable assessment apparatus will be showcased by I-WELL. Details of the ceremony are as follows:
