Dr Ho Wing-kei Named among Most Highly Cited Researchers 2018

Dr Ho Wing-kei, Associate Professor at the Department of Science and Environmental Studies, along with 50 other academics in Hong Kong, was recently awarded a place in the 2018 “Highly Cited Researchers” (HCR) list compiled by Clarivate Analytics (formerly known as the Intellectual Property and Science Business of Thomson Reuters). It identifies the most influential researchers as determined by their peers around the world. The honour is given to researchers who published a high number of papers that rank in the top 1% most-cited in their respective fields of study and year of publication.

The 2018 list contains about 4,000 Highly Cited Researchers in 21 fields (those used in Clarivate Analytics’ Essential Science Indicators for the sciences and social sciences) and about 2,000 Highly Cited Researchers identified as showing exceptional performance across several fields. The list is based on recent research achievements; only highly cited papers in science and social sciences journals indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection in the 11-year period from 2006 to 2016 were surveyed.
