Donation from Honorary Fellow Makes Teacher Leadership Programme Possible

The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change (APCLC) at The Education University of Hong Kong received a donation of HK$1 million from Honorary Fellow Mr Chung Po-yang in 2019, to support the “Service Leadership 3CS for Entrepreneurial Teacher Leaders” learning programme. Mr Chung is the Co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of DHL International, and Director of Service Leadership Education Limited.

The programme team comprised APCLC members, including Principal Investigator Dr Maxwell Ho Chun-sing, and Co-Investigators Professor Allan Walker, Dr Lu Jiafang and Dr Darren Bryant. At the heart of the endeavour will be an adaptation of the service leadership model and teacher entrepreneurialism to develop a teaching professional learning programme for the betterment of teacher leadership in Hong Kong.

Professor Allan Walker, Director of APCLC, said, “For the past decade, APCLC has been dedicated to enhancing the capacity for leadership development through programme design and evaluation of programmes. The “Service Leadership 3CS for Entrepreneurial Teacher Leaders” learning programme will help nurture and enhance teachers’ professionalism and entrepreneurialism to help achieve sustainable change in Hong Kong school systems.”
