Professor Xu Guandong, Director of The Education University of Hong Kong’s Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC), Chair Professor of Artificial Intelligence, Director of University Research Facility of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, believes that AI technology enables every student to independently explore their interests, igniting an intrinsic passion for learning. The ‘Model-as-a-Service’ (MaaS) platform developed by LTTC helps students and teachers use large language models to achieve personalised learning and teaching, while integrating sustainable development principles.

He emphasises that the focus of education extends beyond imparting knowledge to cultivating students' critical thinking, empathy, and creativity. AI is a tool which serves humanity. Facing technological transformation, we should maintain an open and collaborative mindset, harnessing technology to collectively shape the future of education.
