Throughout the event, the guest speakers engaged actively with readers and the public, sharing insights and exchanging ideas.

Professor John Lee Chi-Kin stated that as the only higher education institution in the Hong Kong SAR dedicated to teacher training, EdUHK upholds the mission of “Education Talent Virtue”, with the hope of making greater contributions to the development of the nation’s education. Marking the university’s 30th anniversary in 2024 and the upcoming 10th anniversary of its retitling in 2026, EdUHK is committed to deepening public understanding of the work of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, as well as the significant roles their members play in national and Hong Kong SAR development. Organising the “NPC & CPCC Talks” and producing an accompanying publication, providing readers with meaningful perspectives on recent national policies and achievements.

During the book fair, Professor Lee participated in “A Book Club: One Hour of Reading” cultural flash event, where he offered readers an in-depth introduction to the new book, also promoting reading and learning.

In addition, Professor Lee also took part in the “Children’s World” stage at the Book Fair, where, together with two student hosts and guest speakers, he explored the topic “Holistic Education: Key Competencies for Future Leaders.” During this intergenerational dialogue on education, Professor Lee and the guests discussed the essential qualities that future leaders should possess, including the "five educations"—moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labour education—highlighted in Mainland China, and offered perspectives on the distinctive features of leadership within the Chinese context.
