EdUHK Student Receives Top 10 Outstanding Tertiary Students Award

Congratulations to Carlos Chow Yin-hong, a year 5 student of the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (English Language) programme at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), who was selected the Top 10 Outstanding Tertiary Student of Hong Kong 2021.

Chow was nominated for his outstanding academic performance, extra-curricular and community service achievements. During his studies at EdUHK, Chow proactively participated in many social services, including the Macedonia House Building Service Trip to help renovate the homes of elderly people living on their own, and the Cambodia voluntary service trip to give lessons and plan curricula for primary school students. As a HKSAR Youth Ambassador, he also visited Ireland on behalf of the government to promote Hong Kong.

After two rounds of interviews and public voting between June and September, Chow was selected as an award winner among around a hundred applicants.

Chow expressed his gratitude for the opportunities and support offered by the University throughout his studies, which helped him unleash his potential as well as inspiring him to become a ‘humble servant leader’ and a ‘giver’ to the community.

Organised by the Hong Kong Youth & Tertiary Students Association, the inaugural award aims to recognise and nurture promising students interested in the future development of the Greater Bay Area. It fosters their holistic growth, as well as encouraging them to act as role models to their peers and to contribute to the community. For details, please visit here
