Professor Keith Ho Wing-kei is a Professor at the Department of Science and Environmental Studies of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). He received his BSc and PhD in Chemistry from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and completed postdoctoral fellowships in Hong Kong and Canada. His research interests include environmental remediation, nanotechnology, solar photocatalysis, air pollution control, indoor air quality and science/environmental education.

Professor Ho has published more than 240 peer-reviewed journal articles, with over 41,000 citations and an h-index of 106 (Scopus, as of September 2026), including 22 highly cited papers in the past 10 years. He has been named a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher for six consecutive years; listed by Stanford University among the world’s top 1% of scientists in Physical Chemistry since 2019; recognised as a Top 1% Best Scientist in Materials Science by Research.com; named a Top Cited Scholar by Scilit; named a CNKI Highly Cited Scholar; and named the 2024 Advanced Materials Laureate by the International Association of Advanced Materials. Professor Ho’s research in air purification technology has earned numerous honours, including the National Innovation Award in Aerosol Technology, the Hong Kong Research Grants Council Early Career Award, the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance from EdUHK, and a Gold Medal at the International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada (iCAN); Editor of Distinction Award by Springer Nature. He has had more than ten patents granted or filed in the US, Europe, China and Hong Kong for his research in air purification and disinfection technology.

Professor Ho has secured more than HK$15 million in competitive research funding as Principal Investigator from sources including the General Research Fund and Early Career Scheme of the Research Grants Council (RGC), the Innovation and Technology Fund, the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Hong Kong Scholars Program. As well as his environmental research, Professor Ho is also devoted to STEAM Sustainable Development Education. He is the Principal Investigator of a large-scale HK$85 million Primary Science Education Project (JC CoolScience) funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, which aims to build teacher capacity to support science Inquiry-Based Learning for primary school students. He also leads community projects such as the Earth Academy – ESG Youth Leadership Training Programme in partnership with the local NGO Friends of the Earth (Hong Kong). He is also one of the core committee members of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Primary and Secondary STEAM Education.

Professor Ho is also committed to professional service and to giving back to society through his expertise. He currently serves on the editorial boards of various international journals and has served as a panel adjudicator for various science and STEM project competitions over the past 10 years. He is a Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials. Professor Ho serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Nanoparticle Research and on the editorial boards of Chinese Journal of Catalysis and International Journal of Photoenergy. He has been a member of the Board of Governors of Friends of the Earth (Hong Kong) since 2022, a member of the Physical Sciences Panel (Joint Research Schemes) of the RGC since 2024, a member of the CDC-HKEAA Committee on Chemistry since 2025, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Sustainable Campus Consortium since 2023. He was previously a member of the HKDSE Subject Committee – Chemistry (2018–2021).
