Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS)
New Scholarship Scheme Targeting Local Students for Postgraduate Studies

Background
The HKSAR Government has launched the Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS), starting from the 2025/26 academic year. This scholarship scheme aims to attract outstanding local students to pursue postgraduate studies in key areas that will drive the development of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
List of Designated Programmes for FTSS
In 2025/26, 17 EdUHK taught postgraduate programmes will be supported under the FTSS.
Schloarship Highlights
FTSS awardees can receive tuition subsidies for up to HK$100,000 for designated taught postgraduate programmes, regardless of the actual study period and mode of study.
Application Procedures
Eligible students will be invited by the programme to submit applications. Candidates are required to submit a personal statement on how they would contribute to the priority areas of Hong Kong and take into account the applicant’s commitment to join the relevant industries/sectors and stay in Hong Kong (or the Greater Bay Area) upon graduation.

Remarks
To avoid “double benefit”, students awarded with other government scholarships, including the Continuing Education Fund, will NOT be considered for the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies. Nevertheless, students are still eligible to apply for the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme under the Student Finance Office to settle the tuition fees for the taught postgraduate programme in the form of loans.
In the event of any disputes, the University reserves the right to make the final decision on the selection of the awardees.
