My research focuses on Late Imperial Chinese History, particularly the Ming dynasty, with a focus on politics, institutions, statecraft, ritual, and diplomacy. In recent years, I have also expanded my research into Hong Kong History, especially the New Territories, through archival and fieldwork-based studies of lineage society, ancestral halls, traditional festivals, and local governance. More recently, I have developed complementary interests in Digital Humanities and AI-enhanced historical research and history education, integrating digital methods into historical inquiry and teaching.
Before joining EdUHK, I worked at several universities across Hong Kong and Chinese mainland. My research has been supported by national and provincial research grants, alongside a series of learning and teaching projects in Digital Humanities, AI, and Hong Kong cultural heritage.
