Ms Lee Ching-yan, Graduate of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture (Visual Arts) in 2024/25
While we from the Visual Arts stream of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture programme could have graduated without holding a graduation exhibition, my partners and I wanted a public opportunity to showcase what we have learned and experienced over the past few years.
Because of this, we were eager to create a space for our youth energy and creativity, even though an exhibition was not a graduation requirement.
We faced many challenges along the way. We began planning the exhibition in the summer of 2024, and only officially started executing it after the end of our second semester in 2025. The time after graduation became busy, which left us with less time to focus on the exhibition held in August 2025. There were moments when we wondered if we should continue, and we felt disappointed. Thankfully, we received tremendous support from teachers, seniors, and friends who provided advice and encouragement, helping us successfully prepare for this exhibition. I would like to express our gratitude to all the teachers who guided us over these years and to our friends for their valuable feedback.
As curator of this exhibition held at JCCAC L1 Gallery, I hoped the exhibition would provide our classmates with opportunities to seek new directions and reflect on their university experiences and learning. We aimed to showcase the fruits of that labour. May every participant in this exhibition—whether as a curator, artist, or helper—carry the lessons learned throughout this process as they transition into the next phase of life.
