Ms Lam Fung Yee Jenny

Jenny is an exceptional administrative colleague, renowned for her diligence, efficiency, and substantial contributions to the Faculty. With a strong academic background in Linguistics, she demonstrates outstanding analytical and communication skills, enabling her to adeptly manage complex tasks. As the leader of the Secretariat Team, Jenny ensures smooth Faculty operations through strategic planning and effective implementation. Her intensive support for the Chinese History Education Scheme has exemplified her strong ability to coordinate initiatives with multiple stakeholders.

 

Additionally, her innovative thinking and problem-solving skills have led to the development of important guidelines for funds and grants, significantly enhancing efficiency. Jenny’s unwavering support for the Faculty Board and various Committees also highlights her ability to maintain excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders. Her collegiality and mentorship also help foster a supportive work environment, making her an invaluable asset in the Faculty.

Mr Cheng Man Fung Manvil

Manvil is highly recognised for his exceptional dedication and multifaceted contributions to the Faculty. His expertise spans multimedia, graphic design, digital communication, and event coordination. He has managed over 30 faculty events, showcasing his ability to collaborate effectively and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines, as evidenced by his strong organisation skills in coordinating various key faculty events, such as FHM’s 10th Anniversary Celebration.

 

Furthermore, Manvil has successfully strengthened the Faculty’s branding and visual identity through various initiatives, such as developing standardised PowerPoint templates and revamping the Faculty website, which now attracts over 30,000 monthly page views. His management of digital content has also boosted the Faculty’s online presence and social media growth. Additionally, his problem-solving skills, clear communication, and commitment to a supportive work culture highlight his invaluable impact on the Faculty. 

Dr Mak Ho Yan Sabina

Ms Tam Siu Wun Winnie

Winnie’s contribution has been invaluable to the success of the expansion of the MACSLE programme. Her strategic coordination and dedication have been pivotal in managing a ten-fold increase in planned intake (from 70 to 700+), establishing the programme as one of the university’s fastest-growing taught postgraduate programme. Her adept management of daily operations amidst surging application numbers, coupled with her ability to optimise teaching schedules across departments, exemplifies her administrative excellence.

 

Even during peak admission periods, she maintains professionalism, resolves conflicts, and manages ad-hoc tasks with competence. Her innovation capability, meticulous planning, clear documentation, and effective communication have ensured the programme’s stable development and seamless operations amidst rapid growth. Her ability to coordinate multiple moving parts and anticipate needs has positioned the MACSLE programme for continued success and expansion.

Mr Ip Wing Hin Harry

Harry has consistently provided unfailing support to the Faculty over the past years. In addition to his primary duties, he took on additional responsibilities to provide interim administrative support for programme implementation, amidst staff movements and prolonged leave of absence. His ability to manage this increased workload, alongside coordinating scholarship matters, arranging summer internships, and supporting the Chinese History Education Scheme, demonstrates his remarkable efficiency and reliability, particularly noting that many of these tasks involve complex coordination and large numbers of students.

 

Harry’s exceptional organisational skills, clear communication, innovation, and problem-solving skills in managing this heightened workload have been truly impressive. His positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and strong commitment make him a highly valued member of the Faculty.

 

 

Ms Lau Fung Yee Annie

Annie is a very capable colleague with extensive experience serving in the Faculty Office of the Faculty of Humanities. She demonstrates a high level of professionalism in providing executive support in various areas related to QA/E, learning and teaching, and programme management etc. She always accomplishes the assigned duties in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of quality. She is very attentive to details and can always provide appropriate advice and guidance to others to foster a collegial and supportive working environment. A particularly notable instance of Annie’s dedication is her initiative to address the frequent requests from the Learning and Teaching Quality Committee. She always ensures effective communication with the relevant stakeholders, facilitating the seamless and efficient completion of tasks within the stipulated deadlines.

 

Annie’s commitment to excellence is evident in her professional achievements. Her diligence, strong organisational skills, and ability to multitask effectively are particularly impressive. She is consistently conscientious and reliable, responding well to the responsibilities entrusted to her.

Mr Yau Sze Hok Chris

As an essential member of the Department of English Language Education (ELE), Chris demonstrates exemplary knowledge and skills in providing administrative support for colleagues to meet the research, teaching, and service goals of the department. He works independently with focused efficiency on important tasks and is equally effective at working with a team of administrative colleagues and assistants in more complex endeavors. He has a keen sense of responsibility and will ensure the successful completion of administrative tasks regardless of the time and effort required, often going above and beyond expectations and sacrificing personal time to support department goals.

 

Even in the most challenging periods, such as throughout the pandemic and when two other, more experienced administrative officers resigned from the department, Chris was quick to take up extra tasks and to train and support younger/new colleagues. Chris has contributed greatly to the smooth running of the department that has allowed ELE to make substantive progress towards its goals in recent years.
