FHM U LIFE ‧ U LIKE Programme

Aims

1. To provide the current students of the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) with the opportunity to visit secondary schools and experience a day in the life of a secondary school teacher.
2. To facilitate the knowledge transfer of university expertise and insights to secondary schools.
3. To promote the image of the Faculty of Humanities (FHM), enhance high school students' understanding towards EdUHK, and encourage students' interest in FHM programmes and offerings.

Eligibility

• FHM senior year students (Years 3 and 4 for BA, Years 4 and 5 for BEd), and
• Programme GPA of 3.00 or above, and
• Able to fully comprehend Cantonese and able to use at least basic Cantonese for communication, and
• Recommended by the affiliated programmes.

Participants are expected to:

• Participate in the pre-event briefing session.
• Attend the entire event.
• Actively engage in sharing and reflection sessions.

Event Details

Event 1 Briefing Session (2 March 2026, Monday)

Location: B2-LP-16, The Education University of Hong Kong, Tai Po Campus

Time: 14:30-16:30

Event 2 Teacher Shadowing (April 2026, TBC)

Location: Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School

Duration: 1 Day

Participants will:

• Be paired with a secondary school teacher to experience their daily work routine, including office life, meals, and classroom teaching.
• Shadow experienced teachers in real classrooms to observe teaching techniques and classroom management.
• Engage in in-depth discussions with secondary school teachers to understand the challenges and opportunities in the education field.

Event 3 One-on-One Campus Buddy Scheme (29 April 2026, Wednesday)

Location: The Education University of Hong Kong, Tai Po Campus

Duration: 1 Day

Participants will:

• Be paired one-to-one with Form 4 or Form 5 students to share insights on university learning and personal growth experiences.
• Guide their secondary student partners on a tour of the EdUHK campus, allowing them to experience university life and attend classes together.

Event 4 Sharing Session by the Secondary School Principal (April to May 2026, TBC)

Location: Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School

Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours

Participants who attend all required events will receive a Certificate of Participation.
