Professor Michelle Gu Elected Fellow of The Hong Kong Academy of the Humanities

Professor Michelle Gu Mingyue, Assistant Vice President (Research) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), has recently been elected as a Fellow of The Hong Kong Academy of the Humanities in recognition of her research excellence and continuous contributions to the humanities.

 

Professor Gu is a prolific scholar in sociolinguistics, researching language and identity, digital trans-literacies, multilingualism and mobility, and youth self-concept in social media. She has a strong record in securing external competitive research grants as a principal investigator. She received the President’s Award in Individual Research Excellence at EdUHK in 2022, and the Research Excellence Award in 2017 and the Young Researcher Award in 2015 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is also listed among the World’s Top 2% Most-cited Scientists by Stanford University in the field of linguistics and languages.
