Dr Anna Kam Awarded Grant from the Health and Medical Research Fund

Dr Anna Kam Chi-shan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Special Education and Counselling at The Education University of Hong Kong, has been awarded a grant from the Health and Medical Research Fund of the Food and Health Bureau. The HK$1,150,000 grant from the prestigious fund will go towards Dr Kam’s research on dyslexia in children. In her research entitled “Intervention Efficacy of Assistive Listening Devices for Chinese Children with Dyslexia – a Randomized Controlled Trial”, she will investigate whether personal frequency modulation systems can improve the literacy and speech perception of dyslexic children. The results of the trial will help to provide support for dyslexic children and contribute to developing better health policies for them.
