Over 8,000 visitors attended The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK)’s Information Day 2016 today (22 October) to obtain the latest information on its full-time undergraduate and other programmes.

The Information Day, which took place from 9am to 5pm, featured 45 introductory sessions held by different academic departments with academic staff and student ambassadors providing consultations and answering enquiries on admission requirements and campus life. Prospective students also made good use of the opportunity to understand the wide variety of academic programmes offered and their related career prospects.

During the event, a wide-array of interactive activities were held on campus, ranging from a psychology carnival, fun activities, game booths, graduates’ experience sharing and a painting demonstration to a student musical performance. A number of facilities were opened to the visitors, including the Research Lab, Integrated Centre for Wellbeing, Human Performance Lab, Arthur Samy Language Learning Centre, Mong Man Wai Library, student hostels, the Physical Fitness Room and sports facilities. Guided tours of these facilities also enabled the prospective students to have a taste of university life.

As the newest publicly funded university in Hong Kong, EdUHK plays a distinctive role in leading the strategic development of teacher education. Its leadership has been recognised regionally and internationally as evidenced by its latest ranking of 12th in the World and 2nd in Asia in Education in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2016. Under its “Education-plus” vision in recent years, EdUHK has developed multidisciplinary subject areas of psychology and linguistics, environmental sciences, humanities and creative arts.
