Praises Elite Athlete Student Cado Lee for Outstanding Performance
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is proud to celebrate the Hong Kong Men’s Rugby Sevens Team’s remarkable achievement in winning the gold medal at the final of the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China (National Games) held tonight (14 November). President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin extended his heartfelt congratulations to Cado Lee Ka-to, an elite athlete student of EdUHK and a key member of the team, as well as to all team members for their outstanding performance.
Cado, currently pursuing a Master of Social Sciences in Sports Coaching and Management at EdUHK, plays as a scrum-half for the Hong Kong Men’s Rugby Sevens Team. In the final that took place at Kai Tak Stadium this evening, he worked seamlessly with his teammates, overcoming strong opponents round after round, and ultimately defeated the three-time champion Shandong team with a score of 26:19 to claim their first National Games gold medal, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament.
Professor Lee said, “Cado and the Hong Kong Men’s Rugby Sevens Team made an all-out effort to secure this victory. The entire EdUHK community shares in their joy and feels deeply inspired. Their strength, skill and agility on the field exemplify the resilience and sporting spirit of true athletes, setting a shining example for all EdUHK students. I sincerely look forward to Cado continuing to pursue his dreams and achieve even greater success.”
