Appointment of Dr Tom Fong as EdUHK Vice President (Administration)

The Council of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) approved today (18 January) the appointment of Dr Tom Fong Wing-ho as the University’s Vice President (Administration) with effect from 1 September 2024.
 
Dr Fong is currently the Vice-President (Organisational Development) and Secretary to the Board of Governors and the Council of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK), providing overall leadership on various administrative and academic support offices and units.
 
Dr Fong served as Director of Student Affairs at the then Hong Kong Institute of Education (now EdUHK) between 2008 and 2014, when he provided leadership to ensure the effective delivery of a wide spectrum of co-curricular activities, and quality student development and support services.
 
EdUHK Council Chairman Dr David Wong Yau-kar said, “We are delighted to welcome Dr Fong back into the EdUHK family and for him to take up this important role. Given his substantial and extensive experience in university administration, and his in-depth understanding of the University, we believe that he will assist in the long-term development of EdUHK in accordance with our core mission.”

 

President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin said, “With his wealth of experience in administration and management, Dr Fong will play a crucial role in the long-term development of EdUHK, and communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.” Dr Wong and Professor Lee also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to incumbent Vice President (Administration) Ms Sarah Wong Man-yee, for her dedicated service to the Council and the University, as well as her contribution to the University’s development throughout her decade-long tenure.
