There are various types of student organisations at EdUHK:
- The Education University of Hong Kong Students’ Union (SU)
The SU was formally established in May 1995. In addition to organising a wide range of activities and providing welfare services for students, the SU is involved in University policy-making and administration through nominating student representatives for committees at the university level.
- Students’ Union Affiliated Societies (SUASs)
Student societies are affiliated with the SU to bring together students with similar hobbies and interests, as well as to encourage and engage them in activities related to those hobbies and interests they would like to promote.
- Departmental Associations (DAs)
DAs are affiliated with the corresponding academic units to bring together students with similar academic backgrounds or studying in the same programme. In addition to enhancing the welfare of their members, DAs support and promote student involvement in academic and professional activities.
- Student Residents' Associations (SRAs)
There are four student residences at EdUHK: Northcote Hall, Grantham Hall, Robert Black Hall and Jockey Club Student Quarters. To provide students with a comfortable and enjoyable hall life, the SRA of each residence organises regular, fruitful social activities and provides up-to-date information for the residents.
