The Seminar, organized by Ming Pao Education Publications Limited and co-organized by the Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education, seeks to address often untouched issues that concern the overall life condition of students and Life Education in general. Apart from professional sharings from two distinguished speakers, the seminar provides an open platform for educators to express their own views on unspoken issues that are otherwise unspoken due to social customs and concerns.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Marvin W. Berkowitz is the inaugural Sanford N. McDonnell Endowed Professor of Character Education and Co-Director of the Center for Character and Citizenship at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. In 1999 he was the inaugural Ambassador H.H. Coors Professor of Character Development at the US Air Force Academy. He served as Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Ethics Studies at Marquette University. He was also founder and Associate Director of the Center for Addiction and Behavioral Health Research in Milwaukee.

World Youth Buddhism Symposium

Launched in August 2011, the World Youth Buddhist Symposium (WYBS) aims to establish an open and interactive platform for communication between the Buddhist community and the younger generation. The original version of Dr. John Fisher’s Spiritual Health and Life Orientation Measure (SHALOM), which is used to assess spiritual well-being, included the word God in some items.
