The Centre was commissioned by the Education Bureau (EDB) to run the Programme on Planning Life Education in Primary Schools in the year 2010-2011, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. The Centre has also been commissioned to run the Programme on Planning Life Education in Secondary Schools in the year 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. Our initiation includes professional development workshops for teachers, visits to pioneer local schools with exemplary life education programmes, study tours to Taiwan, sharing sessions and school support. The two programmes aim to help schools to develop life education and to establish a professional learning community for life education.

The programmes have assisted more than 100 secondary and primary schools to plan and develop their own school-based life education programmes. Together with more than 60 secondary and primary schools joining the programmes in the current edition, there are in total over 10% of all local schools receiving the Centre’s professional training and support on life education. Based on the programmes, the Centre will continue to support our partner schools to further develop life education, such as helping schools to apply funding for life education projects, to support them in the development of school-based life education, and assisting them in implementing thematic experiential activities or curriculum integration in life education, values education, religious education and spirituality education.
