Summary of Learning and Teaching @EdUHK Festival 2023 Postgraduate Session

The Graduate School (GS) and Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) co-organised the Postgraduate Student Sharing Session of “Learning and Teaching @EdUHK Festival 2023” on 9th February 2023. Over 40 students and staff participated in the event.

The event was featured with two insightful keynote speeches. While Prof CHAN Yui Bun Ben from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology gave a talk on the recent developments of teaching for innovation, and some reflections from innovative practices, Professor Tony ZHANG from RMIT University, Australia, discussed the supervisor’s observations and reflections of key attributes related to successful Ph.D. candidates from Melbourne.

In the student-sharing session, three groups of postgraduate presenters shared their thoughts on the current and future development of teaching and learning. They covered topics such as applying Rasch analysis in the assessment of teaching and learning, research on metacognitive teaching strategies, and the role of language teachers in teaching language and intercultural competence.

Professor John Trent then chaired the open forum session. All presenters, postgraduate students, and participants had a chance to join a roundtable discussion and exchange their ideas on teaching and learning.
