Eligibility & Application

Eligibility

1. Nomination from home institution
Applicants must be nominated by the home institution to be considered. They are in the education-related discipline with good academic performance. Once shortlisted, the host school may interview the candidate online or by phone. 

2. English Proficiency
Applicants who are not native English speakers will need to fulfil one of the following language requirements and provide documentary evidence when submitting their applications:

TOEFL

Paper-based: minimum 550
Internet-based: minimum 80

IELTS

Minimum overall band of 6 in the academic version

Home Institution

A letter from the home institution’s International Office certifying proficiency


3. No Criminal/Sexual Conviction
Prospective student-teachers will need to provide an English certificate of no criminal/sexual conviction from their home country.

Application

Interested students are REQUIRED to submit their applications at https://anonmachg2.eduhk.hk/machform/view.php?id=29646720 from 1 February 2019 (Friday) to 31 March 2019 (Sunday).

For application, please fill in the ITTP application form  and also submit the following documents while you are filling in the form:
- A scanned copy of official transcript
- A scanned copy of proof of English proficiency (if your native language is not English)
- A scanned copy of Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC) in English or any lawful documentary proof, issued by the countries/cities where you have resided
- A scanned copy of recommendation form signed by the international office/ study abroad office of your home institution
- A scanned copy of Personal Statement (introducing yourself, stating your reason of applying for teacher training in Hong Kong, and/or further information if you see fit)
- A scanned copy of completed visa application form and supporting documents
