On 27 May 2026, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) celebrates the 10th anniversary of its retitling, marking an important milestone in the University’s development. Since the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China retitled “The Hong Kong Institute of Education” as “The Education University of Hong Kong” in 2016, the University has steadily expanded its positioning, teaching, research, innovation, knowledge transfer, as well as national and international engagement, evolving into an education-focused university with diversified academic strengths and a global outlook.

Standing at this new starting point on the 10th anniversary of its retitling, EdUHK will remain rooted in education while actively pushing the boundaries of academic disciplines. The University will further integrate education with artificial intelligence, cultural and creative industries, social innovation and sustainable development, building a more forward-looking, flexible and globally oriented education system to nurture the talent needed for the future of Hong Kong, the nation and the world.
