EdUHK Soars 60 places to Rank 152nd in QS Asia University Rankings, Securing Top 10% Achievement
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is pleased to announce its ranking of 152nd out of 1,526 higher education institutions in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, rising 60 places from the previous year. This achievement places the University in the top 10% across the region. Released today (4 November) by international higher education analytics firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the rankings highlight EdUHK's strong performance across key indicators, reflecting the University's sustained commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and global engagement.
This achievement marks a significant leap from EdUHK's debut at 212th in the 2025 edition, underscoring the institution's notable ascent and commitment to advancing innovation and education futures. The ranking highlights EdUHK's strengths in international faculty ratio, citations per paper, and faculty student ratio, reflecting its growing recognition for academic quality and research impact across Asia.
"The QS Asia University Rankings 2026 recognise EdUHK's ongoing efforts to deliver world-class education and research that address global challenges," said Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, President of EdUHK. "Climbing 60 places to the top 10% is a testament to our faculty, staff, and students' hard work in advancing our 'Education Futures' vision under the guidance and support of the Council. We are proud to contribute to Hong Kong SAR's role as an international education hub while preparing graduates who are equipped to lead in diverse, dynamic societies."
The QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026 methodology is based on 11 indicators, which incorporate academic reputation, citations per paper, papers per faculty, employer reputation, faculty student ratio, staff members with PhDs, international research network, inbound exchange students’ ratio, outbound exchange students’ ratios, international faculty ratio, and international students’ ratio.
This recognition builds on EdUHK's recent successes in other global rankings. In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, announced in October, EdUHK made its debut at 195th globally. Additionally, EdUHK ranked 12th globally in Education in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, and placed third globally in education and educational research in the latest U.S. News & World Report 2025-2026 Best Global Universities rankings, with arts and humanities ranked 90th worldwide.
