EdUHK Orientation Days Welcome New Cohort to a Diverse Campus

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) hosted its Orientation Days on 14 and 17 August at the Tai Po campus, welcoming around 500 local and non-local new undergraduate and higher diploma students. Through a series of activities, new students familiarised with classmates, campus facilities and learning resources, laying the foundation for a rewarding university journey.

Programme highlights included campus tours, hall visits, peer mentor exchanges, student performances, and a student organisations fair. Talks on the National Security Law and anti‑fraud awareness, delivered by the Hong Kong Police Force, further enhanced students’ understanding of  the campus life, regulations and support services. The activities also fostered cross‑cultural connections between local and non‑local participants.

EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi‑Kin, together with senior management and academic staff, welcomed the new cohort. Professor Lee remarked, “This year marks the 10th anniversary of the University’s retitling, a significant milestone. Guided by our latest strategic plan, ‘Education Futures, Diverse Talents,’ we are committed to enriching your learning journey and building a more comprehensive, forward‑looking platform for your learning and development. I encourage you to embrace campus life with principle, perseverance, and a broad perspective. Explore new horizons, strive to become well-rounded professionals of virtue and talent, contribute to the HKSAR, Chinese Mainland, and global societies, and fully enjoy your university journey.”

Dean of Students Professor Bill Yeung Chi-ho encouraged freshmen to make full use of campus resources and experiential opportunities. He noted that EdUHK’s inclusive environment enables students to learn from one another, broaden their horizons, and grow into professionals with solid expertise, a strong sense of national commitment, and a spirit of responsibility.

Entering a new chapter in its 10th anniversary of retitling, EdUHK will continue to strengthen teaching support, enrich the learning experience and expand opportunities for student development. Through quality teaching, cutting‑edge research, and diverse experiential platforms, the University is committed to nurturing talents who contribute to society, the nation, and the global community.
