Parental Stress when Preparing Children for Transition to Primary One

You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover an online press conference next Tuesday (24 August), at which The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) will announce the findings of a recent study of parental stress when preparing children for the primary one transition during the pandemic.

 

According to the latest survey conducted by the Department of Early Childhood Education (ECE) at EdUHK, more than 90% of K3 parents have various levels of stress when preparing their children for primary one transition under the pandemic, and over half of the respondents reported that their children feel anxious because of the school transition.

 

The survey, which was conducted by the ECE from 13 May to 15 June 2021, collected responses from 825 K3 parents via 58 kindergartens and a social media platform under EdUHK. 

 

Speaking at the press conference will be Associate Professor Dr Eva Lau Yi-hung, Assistant Professor Dr Li Jianbin and Senior Lecturer Dr Pauline Chan Po-lin, of the ECE. Other details are as follows:
