Opening Ceremony of the International Conference on Computational Thinking Education 2017 by CoolThink@JC

You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the opening ceremony of the International Conference on Computational Thinking Education 2017 (CTE2017) at The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) this Thursday (13 July).

One of the large-scale academic events of the CoolThink@JC initiative, CTE2017 was created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and co-created by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and City University of Hong Kong (CityU). CTE2017 will gather more than 500 pioneers in computational thinking education from around the world, with the aim of keeping abreast of the development trends related to the implementation of computational thinking education. The conference will provide an invaluable platform for professional exchange among academic scholars and frontline educators, and most importantly, for students to showcase their achievements and learning outcomes from computational thinking education.

Officiating at the ceremony will be Mr Sheridan Lee Sha-lun, Principal Assistant Secretary (Curriculum Development), Education Bureau, HKSAR; Ms Irene Chan, Head of Charities (Communication and Engagement), The Hong Kong Jockey Club; Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of EdUHK; Professor Alex Jen K Y, Acting President of CityU; Professor Hal Abelson, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, MIT; and Ms Marjorie Yang Mun-tak, Chairperson, CoolThink@JC Steering Committee.
