Opening Ceremony of Coding Education Unit at EdUHK

You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the opening ceremony of the Coding Education Unit of the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) this Friday (31 March).

To better support the implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education among schools in Hong Kong, EdUHK is actively involved in the promotion of coding education. The Coding Education Unit was set up in LTTC to promote coding or programming literacy among students and the community.  Led by Professor KongSiu-cheung, Director of LTTC and Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at EdUHK, the unit aims to provide a favourable learning environment for students to acquire coding knowledge and to develop computational thinking through mobile app development.  Its mission and vision are to nurture EdUHK students’ competence in coding for computational thinking development, and eventually to contribute to the well-being and future development of our society.

Officiating at the ceremony will be Mr Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, Under Secretary for Education, HKSAR; Dr Marjorie Yang Mun-tak, Chairperson of the Steering Committee of CoolThink@JC; and Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of EdUHK.
