Jockey Club Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs Graduation Ceremony (2024-25) at EdUHK
You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the third graduation ceremony (2024-25) of The Education University of Hong Kong’s (EdUHK) Jockey Club Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs (the Academy) on Friday 18 July.
The Education University of Hong Kong’s Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education (ISNIE) established the Academy in 2020 with support from the HKSAR Government Education Bureau, the Hong Kong Special Schools Council and a donation from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Academy provides learning opportunities for high school graduates with special educational needs, equipping them with essential life skills and preparing them for the workforce. The Education University was honoured to receive continued support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust in 2024 and joined as one of the partners of the Jockey Club Collaborative Project for Inclusive Employment. In addition to maintaining the existing training framework, the project strengthens career-oriented planning for graduates with special educational needs. By expanding internship networks and fostering cross-sector collaboration, it lays a solid foundation for students to transition into the jobs market.
Officiating guests attending the ceremony include Mr Fletch Chan Wai-wai, Commissioner for Rehabilitation of the Labour and Welfare Bureau; Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, EdUHK President and Director of the Academy for Educational Development and Innovation; Professor Kenneth Sin Kuen-fung, Executive Director of ISNIE and Director of the Academy; and Dr Shek Wai-keung, Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Special Schools Council. Graduates from this year’s cohort, alumni from previous years, their employers and "walking together" partners — prospective teachers from EdUHK — will also deliver speeches at the ceremony.
