EdUHK to Confer First Batch of Honorary Doctorates

You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the Congregation of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) this Friday (18 November). During the ceremony, the University will confer honorary doctorates on two distinguished individuals in recognition of remarkable contributions to their fields in advancing education and social progress.

 

The two recipients are (in alphabetical order):

 

  • Professor Michael W. Apple, FAERA; and
  • Dr Eric Li Ka-cheung, GBS, JP

This year will also witness the first batch of around 3,300 graduates from undergraduate, postgraduate and other programmes since EdUHK’s establishment in May 2016.

 

Dr Pang Yiu-kai, Council Chairman of EdUHK, will preside over the Congregation and Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, EdUHK President, will address the ceremony. Other details are as follows:

Time:1-3 pm  (Please register 15 minutes before the start of the Congregation)
Venue:H. Y. Cheung Sports Hall, Block E
EdUHK Tai Po Campus

 

A designated press area will be set up at the back of the venue. Photographers are advised to bring long lenses.

 

Free shuttle coaches will be available for members of the press at the University Railway StationTransport Interchange at 12:10 and 12:20 pm.
