EdUHK Action By Care – EdU Santa cum Guinness World Record Attempt for “The Most Letters to Santa” Kick-off Ceremony

You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the kick-off ceremony of the Action By Care – EdU Santa cum Guinness World Record Attempt for “The Most Letters to Santa” organised by the Wofoo Whole Person Development Centre of the Student Affairs Office (SAO) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) this Thursday (1 December).

The three-phase “EdU Santa” project is not simply focusing on caring for the community, but is also encouraging students to learn from Santa Claus – to share love with and bring joy to other people.

In the first phase, about 70 EdUHK students formed a group of EdU Santas, and professional training was provided to equip them with the skills and knowledge they needed for upcoming service visits. In the second stage, the EdU Santas used the skills they acquired to bring joy to over 600 people from different backgrounds who were service recipients of various social organisations. The targeted service recipients included the elderly, mentally handicapped persons, low-income families, refugees, etc.

The third stage, which will be the project’s climax, will be the EdU Santa cum Guinness World Record Attempt for “The Most Letters to Santa” kick-off ceremony. The EdU Santas will join hands with students and staff to attempt EdUHK’s first Guinness World Record, for the “most letters to Santa collected in 24 hours”. The EdU Santas will move around campus, inviting people to write letters to Santa that express their thankfulness for or blessings to fellow EdUHK community members.

Officiating at the ceremony will be Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, EdUHK President. Other details are as follows:
